Like a sudden cloudburst, she was in pain.
She called me to talk, make me understand.
She was crying so hard, like the rain,
Which I had to walk through to help her if I can.
She was so troubled; I tried to figure it out
Why was she in this state, and how could I help her.
She told me she had no one, no friends, but what could I do...
She cried and I tried to keep back an impatient shout.
For to me she seemed so like a loser, and was taking up my time,
But I was there with her now, and I had to calm her down.
What's with this person, I was thinking, she should get a life,
And not burden me- Oh great, now she is not making a sound.
Her shoulders are shaking, at least she's stopped that crying.
Maybe I can get out of here; I have some friends to meet.
I told her she must be alright now, because she looked so much better,
She raised up her tear-stained face, and she looked at me then.
She was sitting so still, I was getting bored and antsy,
Then she lowered her eyes, and said she was fine.
She thanked me for coming over, she knew it was asking much.
I told her it was no trouble, anything for a friend of mine.
Thankfully I finally got up, and told her to keep in touch.
She still was lying on her bed; probably still feeling sorry for herself,
I let myself out the door, glad my duty was done.
I hope I'm not going to be late, I hate to miss out on fun, but
You never know when someone is going to bother you, and mess up your plans.
